Resolution of Disputes and Remedies on Electricity Supply

this comes under the act Electricity Supply regulation 2006.
Resolution of Disputes By Regulator.
- the regulator must, in relation to any dispute arising out of this act, if it is a dispute between licensees , act asa mediator if so requested by both parties to the Dispute.
- If it is a dispute between a customer or end user on the one hand and license registered person, a person who trades is on an other hand, settle that dispute by such means and on such terms as the Regulator thinks fit.
- the Regulator may appoint a suitable person to act asa mediator on its behalf or any action or decision of a person so appointed is deemed to be an action by or decision of the Regulator.
- The higher authority must prescribe the procedure to be fallowed in the mediation and the fees to be paid.
Investigations.
The regulator must be , in applicable circumstances , act its own instance or on recipt of a complaint or inquiry relating to the generatiom, transmittion, distribution or trading , investigate
- of discrimination regarding tariffs or conditions of acesss if a licensee is invloved , of fialure to abide by its licensing conditions. or
- on recipt of a report under Subsections the regulator may institute a formal investigation.
- upon instituteing a formal investigation under sub Section.
- the Regulator may appoint a person to chair the investigations and as many persons as may be necessary to assist with the investigations.
- the chair and assisting personels must have to investigate according to the formal procedure.
- on completion of the investigation the person chair must submit its report to the Regulator.
- The Regulator act in accordance with the report.
