Resolution of Disputes and Remedies on Electricity Supply

this comes under the act Electricity Supply regulation 2006.
Resolution of Disputes By Regulator.

  1. the regulator must, in relation to any dispute arising out of this act, if it is a dispute between licensees , act asa mediator if so requested by both parties to the Dispute.
  2. If it is a dispute between a customer or end user on the one hand and license registered person, a person who trades is on an other hand, settle that dispute by such means and on such terms as the Regulator thinks fit.
  3. the Regulator may appoint a suitable person to act asa mediator on its behalf or any action or decision of a person so appointed is deemed to be an action by or decision of the Regulator.
  4. The higher authority must prescribe the procedure to be fallowed in the mediation and the fees to be paid.

Investigations.

The regulator must be , in applicable circumstances , act its own instance or on recipt of a complaint or inquiry relating to the generatiom, transmittion, distribution or trading , investigate

  1. of discrimination regarding tariffs or conditions of acesss if a licensee is invloved , of fialure to abide by its licensing conditions. or
  2. on recipt of a report under Subsections the regulator may institute a formal investigation.
  3. upon instituteing a formal investigation under sub Section.
  4. the Regulator may appoint a person to chair the investigations and as many persons as may be necessary to assist with the investigations.
  5. the chair and assisting personels must have to investigate according to the formal procedure.
  6. on completion of the investigation the person chair must submit its report to the Regulator.
  7. The Regulator act in accordance with the report.
