Electricity License And Registration

This comes under Electricity Supply Regulation Act 2006
Activities Requiring License.
(1)- No person may, without a licence issued by the regulater in accordance with this
(a)- Operate any generation,transmition or distribution facility,
(b)- import or export any electricity.
(c)- Be involved in Trading.
(2)- Not withstanding sub section a person involved in an activity specified in schedule need not apply for or hold a license issued by the Regulator.
(3)- Nothing in this act precludes a potential license from discussing the contemplated operation of generation , transmition and distribution facilities, the import or export of electricity trading or any other activity relating thereto prior to filing a license application with the regulator.
(4)- The regulator must furnish an applicant contemplated in paragraph(a) with all information necessary to facilitate the application for a license.
(5)- No request for further information . notification or discussions to in sub section (4) may be any way be construed as conferring any right or expectation on an applicant.
Certain Activities not licensed.
Minister may in consultation with the any stake holder in the advisery forum, determined that any body has crossed the sectioned then his license may be cancelled.
Registration.
(1)- any person involved in an activity relating to trading or the generation, transmittion or distribution of of electricity , he will not be awarded with the license.
(2)- applicant must register himself with the regulator,
(3)- Application for registration must be accompained by the prescribed registration fee.
(4)- the regulator may refuse to register some person or Activity.
(a)- applicantion is not made within the prescribed period.
(b)- Registration fee is not submitted.
(c)- If the applicant is contrary to the objectives of the act.
